Anniversary Trip 2024
This year our trip was mostly at Cape Cod Mass. But we started locally with some breweries. First up was Bluestone Brewery. They had very good beers, and food was excellent. We had pulled pork nachos, and shrimp and tuna tacos. Along with a nice flight of beers.
Next we stopped in at Upstate Brewing, they have great beers, my favorite is their Ipsolacto type which is a series of sours that is always flavorful and tasty.
This was our local jaunt from Monday June 3rd!
Next was Tuesday, we drove from Binghamton to Cape Cod to start our trip on the ocean. Stayed at Ocean Club hotel, was right on the beach and was very nice and peaceful. Beginning of June is a nice time to travel, wasn’t crowded at all. Also had a heated pool area you could see the ocean from, nice for the rainy days.
On Wednesday we got up really early to watch the sunrise, it was beautiful! We then went back to bed for a little while and set out to a local breakfast place called Pancake Man, it was very tasty and filling, would be a regular there if we lived near by. Then we decided to do some mini golf which was a lot of fun. We werent really keeping score but I won ;).
We also stopped at a local brewery, Devils Purse Brewing, small but nice place with outdoor seating, they had tasty beers and some unique ones like a pickle and habanero beer!
Next we did a lighthouse tour by boat, it was very windy out there but it was nice and fun ride, the lighthouses are very small out there so taking pictures was difficult, but it was a nice experience.
Last thing on Thursday we did was have a nice dinner at Baxters Boat House. I had shrimp and scallops, Mike had a seafood platter. It was all very tasty and well priced!
Thursday was a rainy day but it wasn’t too bad, we toured the Mayflower II and stopped at some local breweries in the area as well as had lunch at our favorite spot, Woods Seafood. The breweries were Vitamin Sea Brewing, which was new to the area and had 24 beers on tap and 2 slushies, it was very good from what we tried and I enjoyed a slushie sour. The second Brewery was Sour not Sorry, finally a brewery based on sours! It was all very good and the geeky space theme of the place made it fun and awesome!
Friday was the trip back home, but we stopped at Proclamation Brewing on our way back! To our surprise they were having Cousins main lobster food truck that day! I had so much seafood on this trip and it was glorious!
Overall this trip was great! I didn’t mention it but I spent a lot of time on the beach every day as well, the weather was pretty good most days and I enjoyed the salty air and the crisp ocean water. The beach was so nice and relaxing, it was just what I needed. We also spent some time in the pool and spa. We will hopfully be able to come back to this spot again and again. <3
