New Bedford, MA

I had to travel to New Bedford for work and decided to bring along my husband, we decided to drive there, it was about 5-6 hour drive. The drive was pretty nice though we drove through RI and wow Providence was crazy to drive through - it’s not as bad as Boston but still pretty crazy.

We stopped for dinner in RI at Iron Works restaurant along with a beer stop at Proclamation brewing. Both places were very good, Iron Works had lost of great food options and truffle fries, which are soooo good. They also had a mushroom appetizer that used maitake mushrooms - very good. Would def stop there again.

Proclamation was also a nice stop, their parking is a little confusing at first but the building is great, they have a big selection of drinks and even a little arcade. They also had someone there selling food but we had already eaten.

In MA, we went to Neds Point lighthouse, it’s a cute little light house and a great view of the ocean. It was very peaceful there and quiet. I’m sure it’s less so in the summer with tourists but it was very quiet and serine there. Good place to hang out and have a picnic when it isn’t freezing cold.

I also wanted to include the fat seagull, apparently when it’s cold they huddle into themselves to keep warm, and so they look fat. It’s adorable.

We stopped at a Mexican place while there and it was delightful, the place was decorated nicely, the staff was great and the food was great. They had a ton of taco choices along with many other things. They even had table side guacamole! It was great and I wish I lived closer to go again and again.

Beer flight

On our way back home we stopped at a few places. The beer above was from Lucky Goat brewing, they are apparently relatively new but had a good selection of beers and they were tasty, I really enjoyed the butternut squash one and the sour they had. As a bonus they had an N64 there you could play, I played some Mario Kart 64 and it was fun, I even got first place haha.

On the way home we also stopped at Plymouth, got some good seafood from Woody’s seafood and stopped at a couple places in the area, I was kind of worn out from the travels so I didn’t take pictures here, sorry. But we will plan a trip during warmer weather and I’ll make sure to take pictures.
